While our main actress, Kate, is on the road she makes several phone calls to her children Katie & Brent.

Kate has always lived life on the wild side. When Brent was 7 years old, Kate, unhappy, left her husband and family (including sister, Katie, Age 4) in search of a better life on the road with her new drummer boyfriend. This plan ultimately fell apart at its conception plummeting Kate into a life of poverty. As a result, Brent grew into the mother-son relationship as a very protective son. Since Kate had Brent at the young age of 18, they practically grew up together. In all instances, Brent is the rock in the relationship and is always patient, calm, and rational when conversing with Kate. At the end of the day, Mom is Mom, and our characters reconnect on the very fabric that has kept them together for life. Blood.

Katie is in contact with Kate three times during the film.

(1) Katie leaves a voicemail asking for help with a birthday party she is throwing for her children (Kate's grandchildren) the following weekend.

(2) Kate calls Katie back to discuss the party and also asks for her brother's (Brent) garage code since she forgot. Katie is suspicious of Kate's motive to drive 600 miles to Brent's.

(3) Kate calls Katie from Las Vegas, NV to tell her she was driving towards the west coast before her car broke down on the road. Initially, Katie is irritated that her mother fed her a white lie almost a week ago. As the conversation continues, however, Katie's tone changes when we realized Kate is struggling with a bigger issue. Their relationship. Kate looks for the reinsurance that she was the best mother she could be. Katie, with her walls down, responds warmly.

All conversations will be conducted over the phone using iPhone/Android/Smartphone 'Voice Mail' services. Our goal is to capture authentic sounding conversations through the "phone filter" we use in everyday life.

Kate dials up her voicemail. From the phone we hear:

Hey Mom. Just wanted to talk about Peter and Elle's party next weekend. You said you had some ideas? I don't know. Call me back please. You're better at these things anyway. Okay, love you. Talk to you, Bye.
